My favorite was Galleria in Chicago.
Nice atmosphere, no touristy gawkers but enough action and interaction among the people there.

Paddles is great indeed.
Hellfire has reopened lately in Bklyn
used to be the best of the best back in the day
I also remember "Club O" in Manhattan
long gone

come to think of it
tes* meetings were always excellent and hip
the discussions and general attitude towards bdsm were always remarkable
no scenes- just brain storming and idea- sharing
we need this kind of communication over here as well
beyond the written word
simply -a good talk over some coffee

that's done here anyway.
What I meant about TES was that they hold meetings
which don't include sessions but rather conversations

Those kind of meetings you are talking about take place once every now and then in verious places.
One place is the restaurant, a great place to sit down , enjoy a good meal and a good conversation , without the sessions.
Another Idea is too have house mmeting , among friends, or a meeting like the one we had in Hiifa.
I thing its all about doing somthing by yourself for your self and not waiting for someone to do it for you.

So just do it!!!
