She closed the door behind her.
Her house was empty and quiet.
Her mind was full of loud thoughts.
She prefers it this way.
These are the only moments of peace in her life.
When she's alone,
She doesn't have to be anything else but HERSELF.
She doesn't have to please.
She doesn't have to compromise.
She doesn't need to fit in a box.
She doesn't feel guilty.
She doesn't have to keep the conversation flowing,
Or pretend not to notice you didn't listen to her.
She doesn't have to fake a smile or have a small talk.
She doesn't have to try and get noticed.
She doesn't have to act like she's impressed.
She doesn't have to laugh at your stupid jokes just to make you feel good.
She doesn't have to ignore your dishonesty and hypocrisy
Because she has her OWN complexity to learn.
Solitude has always been her friend,
When people kept coming in and out of her life.
So she closed the door behind her.
