How do you sever potential forever?
Untie the knot for which you so fought,
And thought:
“I should”, or “I might”, and “this just seems right”,
But then took a left. And left you behind.
And felt like a theft of your body, and mind.
And now you’ve gotta leave, and go back to find
What’s left of the “You” who created that bind.
But you won’t find anything you might recognize.
Even if you were offered a prize!
A bounty on your former head.
Hate to break it to you, he’s pretty dead.
And it wasn’t really anyone’s fault.
He just drank the coolaid after joining that cult.
A prisoner of his own heart.
(An oscar deserved for playing that part).
And now He’s been cast in a different play
To gloriously portray
That he’s totally OK.
Just with nothing much to say.
But today is a good day!
Yay?
But in truth He’s locked up(in more ways than one)
And he fears He’s forgotten what it’s like to have fun.
There’s a venn diagram of pity and fear
And when you look for your spot, you find that, oh dear.
You’re here, right in that section
That’s lacking all sorts of love and affection.
I keep trying to give it a positive spin:
Chin up, have some cheer. Let’s see that grin!
But the tree of my life has lost a huge section and how do you branch in a whole new direction?
And as much as you want to feel ready and able
You just feel like your roots are nowhere near stable.
Some sunlight and water might help to be clear.
To aid in remembering what brought you here..
He knew He’d get his share of pain,
No one can blame him for not having a brain.
In the end, what helps him cope is that his heart is full of hope.
Hope that pushes fear and pity aside
And take love as it’s beautiful bride.
And these glorious forces.
Two magnificent horses.
Together they band,
To pull him out of the sand.
